{Project 365} .. a photo a day .. candles
I know they aren't good for your house, but I love them. Period! End of story! :)
{Project 365 and Random Stuff} .. because I'm a scrapbooker
- Went to see Letters to Juliet. It started off a little slow, but was really cute if you're into the chick flick kinda thing, which I totally am. :) Just so happens it was at the dollar theater and at $1.25 you can't go wrong! I'm really loving the $1.25 thing lately.
- Had back to school pictures scheduled for A but good old mother nature did NOT cooperate. The rain, wind and just plain cold weather made me think about how close fall is. I really do love sweatshirts, the colors the leaves turn and being able to use my fireplace. When thinking about the cold snowy days ahead and driving in them though...well that alone makes me think Arizona sounds like a rockin place to live and I've never even been there.
- Wondering why I can't resist ordering so many books off Amazon even though I never get a chance to read a good portion of them. Something about books that makes me love them. (Thanks Dad for passing that reading thing my way!) My latest book Style Statement, Live by your own design looks like a good one if you're into the learning, growth type of thing. I really love that about books, they can take you away or teach you just about everything!
- Dove Chocolate...need I say more! :)
- "Miracle Crackers" a Project 365 photo. I cracked up when I opened the pantry and saw this...apparently Mr. A thought Nabisco did a mighty fine job of helping him get better!

Oh the weather outside is frightful...
But here inside its delightful! :) Okay, maybe not frightful (I couldn't help singing the song) but it is mighty cold on the feet when you walk across a snow covered lawn. Everything was beautifully camouflaged in white this morning. It really was amazing looking. But really...its spring...some sunshine in the mix would be great!

If all else fails...
Be creative! Now that we have a dog, eating in front of the t.v. in the family room isn't really an easy task. Miss Molly thinks she needs to be right there in your lap eating along with you and off your plate. Pretty resourceful of A to eat at the desk in the kitchen. A drawer as a table? Kinda funny!
I am grateful
As I stood putting my makeup on I could hear the wind whipping uncontrollably. I couldn't help but think to myself over and over...thank you, thank you, thank you. There are roads closed due to high wind warnings, a fire out of control and diesels turned over due to the wind. And I am safe and sheltered from it all. I think about how grateful I am to have a house to be in. Again I feel blessed.

Evidence of Spring
I walked around the yard this morning with Miss M. trying to find some real evidence of spring other than the calendar. This was I all got. Little bits of lilacs trying to burst open. Can't wait to cut a few for the house. They come and go so fast. Love spring and all that it signifies. Love bright new beginnings. Love that it will finally get warm after the long lull from the holidays. Of all the seasons Spring is probably my favorite. I think I need to buy some daffodils for the inside.
Walk around the lake/Bombarded by seagulls

Took a walk after eating pizza at R's. Definitely a cold overcast day. Totally cracks me up that the kids were being obnoxious and getting the seagulls to fly...in the process R got bombarded by them...screaming and ducking for cover. Little Miss M had a great time sniffing and pulling us along. Can't wait to go back if it ever gets warm! Which I'm sure it will...just not soon enough!

Quote for the day
Quote for the day
"When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal, you do not change your decision to get there." —Zig Ziglar
I might have to remind myself of this for so many things...today though I'm thinking I need the reminder when it comes to working out since I can no longer bring myself to get out of bed at 5:45.

Quote for the day
"When you do nothing, you feel overwhelmed and powerless. But when you get involved, you feel the sense of hope and accomplishment that comes from knowing you are working to make things better." —Pauline R. Kezer
Sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with things that I do exactly that...nothing. I procrastinate because its the easy thing to do. But boy do I feel better if I just take little steps towards my goals...baby steps. One at a time. Breaking my tasks down and doing something helps my brain feel so much less cluttered. :) And believe me there are times when my brain definitely needs that. :)

Quote
I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things he fears to do, provided he keeps doing them until he gets a record of successful experiences behind him. -Eleanor Roosevelt
Fear sometimes paralyzes us. I think about all the things we are capable of or all the things we should and could do but don't do because of something inside that causes us to fear the situation. Like Joyce Meyer's say "Do it afraid." If we can overcome the fear, we are capable of going forward in life in ways that we couldn't have imagined before. I have to remind myself that there are times when fear is definitely something we should listen to but there are other times when fear is just silly. Another quote that I love from Joyce Meyer is... "Fear stands for "False Evidence Appearing Real." Love that. I remember using it when I had to have scary medical tests done. I just kept saying those words to myself and you know what...The tests weren't horrible at all. The scariest part was thinking it was going to be scary. :)

Taco Tuesday

In an attempt to simplify and spread things out a bit I've decided to designate certain chores or items to certain days of the week. One of the things I've designated for Tuesdays is "Taco Tuesday." For me the worst part about making dinner is the actual deciding what the heck to make in order to make everyone Happy! Mr. picky is not easy to cook for ya know. Love knowing whats for dinner in advance, at least for today and Thursday. Wash and Window Wednesday is tomorrow! One window a week. Its actually working out kinda nice...not having as much to catch up on during the weekends. Oh and yeah that's Fajita mix...and no I DID NOT run back to the store...staying awake while shopping for groceries is recommended though. An update: I've decided every Tuesday is to often for tacos in our house...I think I'll try for Mexican (food) Monday.

A Bright Spot-Random crazy thoughts of mine :)

Look closely and you'll see it. The bright spot. Really its just a hole in the window screen but it got me thinking. Sometimes in life we can't see the bright spots. We have to look closer. It takes an effort. But if we stop and really try, if we take notice...they are there. All the things big and small throughout the day. Look closely. So much to be grateful for. What are you grateful for? What simple things can you take notice of today? The smell and feel of warm heat coming from the heater vent as you step out of bed, the ten extra minutes you got to sleep in, a quick hug from a loved one, the first signs of spring popping up through the snow. Find the bright spots...they ARE there.
